Beware of travelguru before making any bookings. Their credibilty can be questioned when you will read this review.On hand they promise you something which they cannot provide and that is what has happened with me.
I had booked couple of hotel rooms through https://Travelguru.com on 4th December. As per my requirement I had told the travel guru representative Mr. Abhishek that I will be checking in on 13th of December 2008 early morning i.e. Saturday and will be checking out on 14th December 2008 i.e. Sunday evening(8pm).
The representative told me about one of the hotel availability(Rajat Executive) and the rate for the same which was Rs3222/- for one night for 4 people for two rooms. When I asked him to make sure thatwhether I check out on Sunday evening by paying only for single days charge, he said that the hotel has 24 hours check out time and I can check out on Sunday evening also without paying anything more.
I asked him again and again telling him that it should not happen that once I visit the hotel and the hotel should ask for extra charge. The answer from Mr.Abhishek was same that I can check out on sunday evening and there will be no problem.
So I went with the booking and paid Rs3222/- for the same.I had opted for cash payement and hence paid the amount by cash on the next day of my provisional booking. Same day I recieved the confirmed booking details, i.e. on 5th of dec 2008.
In between one more family was accompanying us, so I had to book one more room for them in the same hotel.I did that on 9th of dec.
I was going to pay for the second booking on 10th dec 2008.Just before making the payment for the second booking i.e. on 10th Dec 2008 I called the same hotel to confirm whether I can check in on saturday morning and check out on sunday evening, on the contrary the hotel told me that I will have to check out on sunday morning itself or else I will have to pay an extra charge.
After hearing this I immediately called up travel guru for the clarification, I told him what the hotel staff had to say on the charge. The representative then called the hotel and tried convincing the hotel manager, but the hotel manager did not budge. I told the travel guru representative clearly that if that is not possible I will not be able to go ahead with the booking which I have made and asked him to cancel my bookings for the same.
I said that I would like to have my full refund; the representative said that I will get the full refund within 7 working days as it did not met my conditions.
Now the first thing is that the representative did not confirm the rates which were applicable as per the hotel conditions/Norms and gave me the incorrect or half information, which is clearly a fault from the Travel guru's side.
Now it has been more than 20 days, even after following up with travel guru they have not yet refunded my money to me. They just say that we are examining the calls. Once the represenative said that you had asked for cancelling the second booking, where as I never said that I would like to cancel the second booking. Where as I had never paid for the second booking then which money was travel guru going to refund me back.
I think they are just trying to find reasons where in they can avoid me refunding me my money back. First and foremost thing is that they gave me incorrect information on booking itslef.
So please beware of them before making any deals. I dont know whether I will receive my hard earned money back, but I dont want poepl like you to waste your's either.
