I called up contact centre of Travel Guru on the September 30 between 9 to 10 pm and wanted to check some package for Goa and one of your representative gave me info about few packages and I liked one of the package for Riviera De Goa and asked her the formality for doing booking and she asked my credit card details . I gave her my credit card number and date of expiry but to my surprise she asked my credit card CVV number and then I informed her my inability to let her know CVV number for credit card as this is confidential and not supposed to be given to third party over phone or otherwise.


To my surprise she informed that Travel Guru is nomally taking CVV number from customers and doing bookings regularly . I informed her my discomfort and refused to give detail . I informed her that I will try to do the booking through net but unfortunately could not get connectivity so could not do the booking through net .


I even informed her that I do not mind doing the booking by telling Riviera about Travel Guru Reference . I checked in Riviera on October 1 . While I was on leave I received one transaction decline SMS from my credit card issuer bank with message " your transaction of INR 9260 on card (CC number ) declined for security reasons. Please call our customer care." I called up contact centre and to my surprise came to know that there was an attempt to do transaction on my credit card by Travel Guru but since CVV number wrongly mentioned hence transaction declined . I reconfirmed details and instructed my bank to block my card immediately and they acted on it and confirmed blocking my card.


I was too worried because I am holding Platinum Card which has high craedit limit and definitely exposed to risk equivalent to the credit limit of my card and on top of this the mental agony which I was facing.


To my surprise I received one more transaction decline message and got even more worried and called up bank contact centre and gor to know that there were two attempts to do transaction on my credit card but both times transaction was declined because of wrong CVV number .


I raised complain to Travelguru and to my surprise they were not even monitoring customers mail which is such sensitive in nature .Issue was escalted on October 1 and they were not even bothered to look at the complain and when contacted again I was asked to give entire details once again to another e mail ID which I did again but it is more than 3 weeks and no one has bothered to revert back .I received one mail dated October 11 after sending complain reminder during first week of Oct and is as below :


Dear Mr. Thakur,


We understand your concern and are working hard towards the resolution.Refering to your mail below with regards to the transaction we need the asked details to investigate further on the same.We will revert on the same 3 - 5 working days.


We look forward to serve you again and please do let me know if there is something else I can help you with.


I would also like to request you to kindly provide us with the Case ID number for all your future correspondence. Your Case ID is 28989.


I fail to understand how such organisations which is managed by so called high profile people from respected families and funded by some prominent investment firms are doing business . How such basic financial security checks are not present in the organisation . It cannot happen without the consent and approval of management team .


Today it is almost 28 days and there is no resolution and response from some senior management from Travelguru so beware if you are looking at the option of using the services of TRAVELGURU .
