Fraud in the name of NORMAL ROOM by Travel Guru & Green Pastur

Update on 3rd Sept 2014: Thanks to Mouthshut.com, Travel Guru has agreed to refund the full amount paid. According to Travel Guru, green pastures refused to refund the balance amount, so travel guru is bearing the cost.

We booked for two nights of Aug 15 & 16 through Travel Guru for Chikamangalur. They repeatedly goofed up our booking. First of all after confirming our stay in a Chikamangalur resort, within 2 days they claim technical fault and provided us an alternate stay in Green Pasture in Belur. I clearly asked travel guru, if this resort has different categories of room. I was told by travel guru, all rooms are alike and there are no different categories of room.

When we reached hotel on 15th August Apporva told us that on 15th he is providing normal room [as our booking was done through offline mode by travel guru in the last moment] and IF WE ARE WILLING TO CHANGE ROOM he will provide a better room on 16th August. We tolerated 15th August room [there was hardly any walking space in the room, no TV, No tea maker or anything else. Ofcourse interior were good]. Rooms of other guests were much better.

But on 16th August all of a sudden he said we need to move to a NORMAL ROOM. Though earlier he promised us he will be providing better room on 16th August, he completely denied this and claim he said he will be providing normal room on 16th August.

That so called 'normal room', was a room which was just constructed and white washed. No furniture, No interiors were done. Just a mattress was put on the floor. In simple words that room was just a driver's quater. Apporva did not allow us to take a picture of the room, even after repeated arguments and requests.

He kept repeating that he TOLD TRAVEL GURU THAT HE WILL BE PROVIDING NORMAL ROOM. But by any stretch of imagination after paying INR 5, 000 per night any resort will NOT define it as a normal room. That room can be a normal room for a hostel or dormitory but not for a resort.

This is what Green pasture has to say about itself on its website “The Green Pastures is a leading holiday resort near Belur, the well -known temple town in Karnataka. It is a premium resort close to Chikmagalur and is situated inside 14 acres of lush green coffee & pepper plantations”

Green pasture is not a resort : More over its cheating to call it a resort. Green Pasture is just  a homestay. In a single bungalow there are nine rooms, all rooms opening directly in reception. There is no privacy AT ALL.

We have been following this issue with Travel Guru since 16th August. We have called them more than 5 times and sent numerous mails. But neither they have accepted their fault nor denied. It seems once they collect their money their duty is over.

Apporva has already refunded INR 4, 500 to us. I demand travel guru refund the balance amount from inr 10, 200 which we paid at the time of booking. My whole trip was spoiled by Travel Guru and Green Pasture as I have to return on 2nd day itself rather than 3rd day.
