My first mp3 was transcend tsonic 610 was a gift, a coupe of years back, and now I have creative zen stone plus 2 gb also a gift!!!!!!!! yes, again.
Let me put it this way since now I am using both, I find transcend to b much better product as compared to creative zen( yes I know some people r bound to differ).
The sound quality of transcend is much better, output is also more, especially if u want to connect it to extenal speakers, battery life is about 14 hrs when fully charged whereas creative ais about 6 hrs, fling system is better in transcend, display is more elaborate in transcend, fm quality is good, easy to set stations, my creative is not able to set all stations, even recording is good from fm, audio recording is good.
more important since I connect it to my onkyo home theatre too, I find sound quality of transcend to b much clearer than creative, creatives sound seems some what muffled, the clarity of instrument beats is not there in creative, and wen the volume is turned up to full when attached to external source, creative sound output is much less.
BUT yes creative scores hands down in the looks departments, being sleeker and smaller in size it does look more pleasing to the eyes. On the whole, if u want good sound decent looks, 14 hrs of battery life go for transcend and if u want good looks, ok sound battery life of 6 hrs go for creative. Both of them have custom equaliser too which is very good feature, and creative has a bass boost too, which transcend does not have but then it does not needed it, even without it sound quality is good.
Rest all depends upon individual choice.
