This is my second transcend music player after the T sonic 630, which I purchased around two to three years ago. In the first place I am glad for a change I agreed with a shopkeeper on choosing this media player (I am very choosy when it comes to buying things). I would not dwell into the features which you would definitely get to see on the company's website or even other reviews of the product. I will just tell you about the pros and cons which I faced while using the product.

The pros:

It has got a very nice interface. Not a cluttered look, easy to read the song, artist name, album, lyrics or even eBooks.the 11 equalizers definitely gives more choice.

Besides rock, normal, soft, classical, bass, pop, and the normal presets that you find in other mp3 players, the presence of SRS Wow, SRS Wow HD, and SRS customized is great. When you customize SRS you get even more options like SRS 3D, TruBass, etc.there is a good loud speaker to share mp3s with friends picture and video clarity is good. once you read the manual(available on CD) the player is easy to operate.

The repeat mode offers more variety as compared to previous transcend models like normal in folder, repeat in folder, shuffle in folder.the auto power cut which helps in longer play duration sound quality is good whether it was mp3 or fm radioI have a 8GB model and the best part is I can extend its memory to 24GB by inserting a 16GB microsd hc card. when you connect to the computer you have the choice of for data transfer or charging and playback. something that was not there in the T sonic 630.

So I can listen to music even while recharging. you can even customize the main menu by placing your preferred picture as the background. quite reasonable for the features it has. I paid INR 3600 for the piece.

Cons:

While you can play mp3 using the loud speaker, you cannot play fm radio which is a pity considering the sound quality it has.As compared to my previous transcend I felt the voice recorder is not powerful. When I tried to record at high quality and a audio gain at level 7(being the highest. You need to read the manual for this to understand) I still felt that the voice was very feeble even after listening with earphones. There is no choice of environment either.

One can use it only for memos or when one is in a very quiet place and sitting close to another person. As a reporter I have used my previous transcend to record interviews, conferences and it had been nice. But with the new model, I am not risking myself by using the recorder.

Shelled out a 4400 for a 1GB Sony voice recorder. Playback speed is restricted to only mp3 while default format for files recorded is wav, while charging the auto power off is an irritant as the model keeps switching off and this ends up in the player not being fully charged.

However, I do feel the cons are minor when compared to the benefits and I would definitely suggest this product to anyone looking for a good media player on a tight budget.
