I've been an online shopper for quite a number of years. I have purchased in Flipkart, Pepperfry, Medplusbeauty, Game4u, Dominos( Yes I order pizza's online as well:D), Indiaplaza( another waste of time and money website, don't buy from them. Will jot down my review on them later), Jabong, Yebhi, Myntra, Inkfruit, Carkhana, Indiatimes, Fetise, Shoppers Stop. etc. There are still some websites which I have missed. I guess you guys get my point. I am addicted to online shopping. It’s similar to OCD due to which I spent about 30k in the last 12 months so that I get a package every week.


I was searching for a Choke chain for my dog. I already had a choke chain however wanted to buy one more for the secondary lease. So I measured the chain I already had, which was about 55cms. I ordered a chain that said Chrome Plated, 3mm thickness, 55cm length from Tradus.in along with a Sandisk 16GB Flash Drive. The Choke chain costed me  Rs. 126 and the 16GB card was like Rs. 450 or so. Decent prices though.


After a week or so I receive the chain and when I try to put it on my dog, this is too short. I check the Invoice; it says 55cm choke chain, the exact one I ordered. However, the measurements on the choke chain were scratched out from the sticker which had the Price / Bar Code / Seller Information printed. I lodged a complaint as is the process.


A lady called and said that if the product is not matching the description, I'll have to take a photo of the chain with a measuring tape and send it out to them for them to cross verify. Why should I take the pains to measure, take a photo and email it to them. I did measure it after I purchased a measuring tape, the Choke chain length was 45cms end to end with the rings included. Without the rings, the chain length is 35cms or so. This was not mentioned on the website. They had shipped the wrong product.


I told them I was out of town and can't do it for 7 days. She said that she'll check with another team on this and get back to me through email. Within 10 minutes of the call she emailed stating that they will offer me a INR 100 gift voucher.  Rs. 100 voucher for Rs. 126 I spent. When I asked them what's that for, they said that if I accept that voucher, I can keep the chain and they will close the case.


Why would I need something that I can't use and also why would I use a Rs. 100 gift voucher, pay an extra%0 or 60 bucks and purchase the same thing of different size from their website again? When I told them this, they suggested that I pack it and send it back to them for a full refund. I had faced some issues with other websites as well, where they ship the wrong size or the wrong product. Websites like Carkhana or Shoppers stop. They arrange for a reverse pick up and then once they get it, they ship the new item.


The whole point of online shopping is to ensure that I don’t take time to go to a shop and buy stuff. I sit at my home leisurely and shop away to my glory. These guys expect me to go out and courier it? Also, they think I am lying and don’t believe me if I say that the wrong item has been dispatched. I have taken the pains to buy a tape and take a photo for them. However, I’ll never buy from TRADUS.in again.


Looks like lots of people have given negative reviews about Tradus.in out here in MS.  I should have gone through the reviews before I ordered from them. Though they were prompt in responding to my queries and complaints, their process is a big time pain. They don’t trust the customer at all, I guess, their belief in their Vendors top notch service is unwavering I suppose.


Though this is the only issue I’ve had with them, I am miffed because of the way they expect the customer to take action and resolve the problems created by them. And also they think that I am Indian Customer who can be appeased with a Rs. 100 gift voucher and a product that I have no use for. Complete Nonsensical customer service. Customer is not their King.
