Hello!

I once drove Liva few years back and I liked the performance, pickup and the mileage but unfortunately now all 3 points are weaker. I recently came back from a trip and drove it for around 2500 KM and once reached back home I went to the service station to get the service and I was very disappointed with the performance of this car.

#1. Leg Room: Previously the leg room was spaciously enough to allow 6 foot passenger sit normally if not comfortably but that is now not possible because they introduced new find of pedal for accelerator, clutch and brake. You cannot reach no matter what height you have until you drag the driving seat a bit backwards and that kills some extra space which is already less than before. The front passenger seat can stay there but when you make the driving seat little backwards you lose the ability to see the left side mirror and for this you have to ask that passenger to adjust his seat and by doing this you kill the space backwards again. Leg Room in 2017 liva is a big issue for the passengers sitting at the back.

#2. Dealer Satisfaction: Toyota has a slight robotic dealers and they do not bend much as the other brands I know. They stick with the pricing and you cannot win over them or make them convince. Indian buyer with an Indian mindset won't be satisfied because they are somewhat rude if not insulting asking. Once you bought the car then all seems well but again it is not the dealer or the managers sitting at the desk that matter once you have bought the vehicle after purchase it the servicemen and the machine's original built that will make your life peaceful and awful. After returning from the 2500 KM trip I mentioned above I went to the service center to the same dealer from where the machine was bought(actually it's my car. My sister bought it and I was just driving it). I love driving and I have good knowledge about cars's functionality and in my family I normally change all the machine fluids etc at home but this is a new car and since services are free I went to the dealer. I went in the region where they have to do the inspection and do the standard or required changes. I was first not allowed to go there because it's something they do not allow. I said I won;t disturb anyone but still not allowed. So I did not make a big about this. After the inspection was done and we were informed that 1 break line is block. This is something I experienced this was the main reason I want to go and see how these people will handle it. Machine was as good as new and only was driven 28000 KM and for such a new machine having break line issue was disturbing. We went to a hill area where snow was there and the left tire stucked and many times in between in night while we were returning and then again everything went fine and then again same thing happened. Luckily we came back and since I did not found anything wrong with either the drum breaks on the rear left tire which was causing these issue, neither was the drive shaft impacted which was highly unlikely but still possible. Amazingly all these things goes and I never had such issues. So I was interested and want to know what exactly happened there. Service staff after listening to all this stories allowed me to come and see all what they checked and will be doing. They said that break line kept the break shoe stucked and because of this the drag was there. I personally checked that possibility and I did not found and if that was the case shoe would have lost all the abrasive and drums should become super hot. They after all this talk were not happy and called there boss and I said this is not what they are explaining to me. They have to check the left rear drive shaft. After much argument and unprofessionalism from their part they said OK we will open the drive shaft and see. Drive shaft eventually had a deformation and the groves or teeth the make rotation were badly damaged and though right rear was not making issues that too was having issues. At that point they didn't know what to say because at that time the issue was bigger and on the credibility of the vehicle itself that has been droven 30500 KM and ertainly not for off roading.

#3. Mileage: Mileage is still good you can yield 28 KM/L on highway and between 23-25 KM/L in city.

#4. Comfort: No since the Leg Room is less passengers complains to stretch the legs and you have to stop. Feature wise nothing new has been added. Seats are same as in before version though the cover material has been changed.

#5. Reliability: Toyota's loved and respected as God brand but all my trust was shattered when I had this drive shaft issue. It was like I didn't felt that the issue was that big because the problem disappeared after being there for 4-5 KM. Service guys were not able to explain how this could happen because vehicle didn't had any other problem except this from the vehicle's condition they could tell that this is something they do not understand how could happen. Drive shaft are not something that could be changed fast and they have to raise a proper case with the company about it. It took 5 days and I checked the assemblage of shaft once they fixed it. The said and gave all assurances they can but I felt afraid about this occurrence because a Japanese brand like Toyota had such issue than any other brand could also had this issue because these drive shafts are not produced by them they also by it and assemble it. But they have a lab in which they conduct test and could have find it. It could have been fatal for me but I do not know how the shaft remained intact for so long.

#6. Appeal: It's an appealing vehicle from outside and you will feel great about it as it shows you the elegance and class in style. Modern cars has to have this else they won't be bought. But I request you all to have a good test drive and atleast 2 time time before deciding any model of car. Even if you have minimum utility/use. Cars should be safe for you and others on road. It's about life and you have to think about

I won't suggest anyone to consider this model because I have not seen such manufacturing issue elsewhere.
