Toyota what a brand! One thinks by seeing cars like Corolla & Camry -but what about when we think of that load hauler and call center cab-QUALIS!But it signifies a great factor-Reliability. Probably HONDA 's image is better in India -with City(the older one specially) always considered as a premium car!
Looks: Corolla is a very modern car! The first thing that strikes you about it is it's mesmerising Headlamps .That is what makes the Corolla look a premium car.But look at from a distance it looks rather compact!-it doesnt look anyway as long as Ocatvia or Optra despite being actually longer than them .The reason is it's short bonnet,exceptional tall roof and aeroydanimism.
But when you come close to it or it passes by on the road in front of your car -you realize it is actually a very big car.At 4530 mm in length it is not only the longest car in the ''D- '' Segment but also longer the Merc-''C'' Class ,apart from being the tallest(as tall as the Matiz).
In some way it looks like a grown up New Honda City.But apart from the great headlamps the styling is simple,unlike the City which looks form Mars. In many parts of the world Corolla is often called ''zero image car ''( it's too boring for some)
The Corolla is the outright winner of the performance stakes and is better than all the opposition on this aspect even though the 125PS of max power and 158Nm of torque that its dohc 16-valve VVT-i engine produces is by no means the highest..
Corolla's Engine is the smoothest among competition.It is no doubt one of the fastest cars in it's segment.
Corolla has great Ride Quality going it's way!
Corolla's interiors are by far the best if you compare all the other cars in the segment.Great space and luxury put it amongst even cars like the Sonata.Thats why Corolla sells in higher numbers than cheaper cars like Optra.
But a look at the price and it seems rather costly! At the same price you could strecth to the Sonata.And mind you Sonata has the Merc look and is a much bigger and classier car.(Even though the new Sonata may be on it's way!).
Corolla may be overpriced!The reason I feel one must go for the Optra- I think it looks better than the Optra and is definietely a much value for money car!
