Had a lot of hesitation considering the Altis Diesel because of the 1400 cc, but the test drive was amazing, eventually bought the car, and took it for a drive to Coorg in Karnataka, amazing drive , great car, even greater fuel average, started with a tank full from Mumbai, topped up the tank at Harihar Karnataka, actual fuel average tank full to tank full 21.14 km/ltr, cruising at speeds of 120 to 130 km/hr, with occasional bursts upto 170 km/hr. Amazing car, initial turbo lag, but its ok, all this with the AC working through out the journey.
Experienced the worst roads after Chikmagalur, some places there was only a board saying SH, but there was no road. Feared the worst, was sure that there would be damage to the under carriage. But on inspection of the car after the drive in Mumbai, was surprised to find absolutely no damage what so ever. On the way back, we decided not to stop over, came back via Kasargod as the Mangalore Highway was closed. bad roads and traffic, did Madekeri to Mumbai non-stop, except bathroom stops and lunch, snack stops. Amazing Car, Amazing drive. Strongly recommend. Great Fuel average, the most frugal car I have ever owned. Fantastic build quality. Reminds me of the Maruti advt, Petrol khatam hi nahin hota, in this case it is diesel , Even Better :))
