That is what I would call touchtel DSL. As mentioned by somebody in Delhi..The speeds are good. Connection is instantaneous. The only problem is the service.
What are the things we look in service provider(SP) will give us an Idea about how to evaluate the SP.
- Clear information pre-sale.
Now the sales guy from Touchtel (lets shorten to TT), was more interested in selling the connection whatever means possible. Why am I saying this?
> he promised connection in 3 working days. I got it after 12 working days.
> he promised that I'll be given a chance to pick the number out of a list of numbers. Nothing happened.
> Post sale he never picked the phone or returned any call
- Custmer service centre is to provide service
>I called to give complaint about the delay in connection. for 12 days the same answer was given..we will get back ASAP
>I called again regarding the preffered number, The answer same.
The best thing to do is stop calling at all..
- Billing is bad
Only comment I would give is they do not know what they are doing..otherwise they are learning.
- Technical support
>The connection did not work initially on my Lap-top. the tech guy who came (& he came at least 4 times without any sucess) first said my USB port is not working (when I was using the same port for the printer..But since I am not a techno person I accepted), after showing it to the HP service centre they told the port is OK. Now they said the OS is corrupted. After this the connection was changed to a desk-top machine. The same problems there also, after a lot of fiddling around the thing works now. Neither I nor the guy who came know how...
God bless TT....
