I bought 2 laptops - Toshiba Protege R-30A, spending Rs. 75000 each. But I wish I could turn back the unfortunate date when I decided to buy a Toshiba product.
From the next day of purchase, both laptops started giving a blue screen error dump. It shuts down at anytime on its own and throws a blue screen of error. Cant save any files, no recover. all work lost.
This happens at frequent intervals.
Imagine, even under warranty, Toshiba took 1 month to send an engineer - after atleast 100 followups.
The third party service provider - Ensure Service - is a bunch of idiots that I think dont even know how to use a computer.
They changed hard disk - still the problem continues - it shuts down anytime and does not let me save any data. It I put it on sleep, I need to remove the battery to reset it, as it does not come out of sleep mode.
When the problem recurred, I called them again. The system created a dump file, which proved that the blue dump error had occured. They came, they ran some diagnostic check and said'There is no problem.' I asked then why does it shut down automatically. No response. They said if there was a problem, the tool would have detected it.
Great - so now they dont want to own up the problem. They are not doing anything to resolve it. I spoke to the highest person at Toshiba - some Enterprise Support Manager named Mr. Shushil Sharma. He said, we dont give guarantee - only warranty. And if there is a major problem we will find out.
So according to them, a laptop shutting down suddenly - giving blue dump error is not a major problem.
How can the same problem happen in 2 laptops purchased at the same time.
People - please DO NOT BUY ANY TOSHIBA LAPTOP OR PRODUCT if you value your hard earned money.
I would have given negative ratings, if there were an option
