When the screen is set on fire. Review on Top Ten Bollywood Pairs

Bollywood pairs have always been tight lipped about their romantic links, that is good and bad at the same time. Let’s peep into the lives of the on-screen pair and find out the reality. The on-screen pairs I’m gonna talk about do share some kind of charm and on-screen magic but is it all hoopla created by rumors or they really are linked….is what we will peep into.

• Amitabh & Rekha

The most talked about on-screen pair. If one believes the grapevine then you’ll find that they were seeing each other even after their marriage, though Jaya never spoke a word about the whole thing.

What makes this pair so talked about is the quietness from both the sides. Neither of the two ever spoke openly about their relationship. But even now when this pair comes on screen the screen is set on fire and audience just can’t stop admiring the on-screen chemistry between the two. The rumors were that Yash Chopra’s “Silsila” was based on the true story between the duo. Recently when gorgeous Rekha came at the premier of “BLACK”, people could feel the heat between the two. Rekha didn’t try to suppress her feelings for Big B, though Big B is not showing any interest in the lady for the last few years but lady still is ready to die for one glimpse of her leading man.

• Salman & Aish

After Big B and Rekha’s affair if any other pair that fetches the attention of the audience is the pair of Aish and Sallu. Though the love story between the two ended years back, but still the market of speculations is hot. People want to see the duo together. Though Sanjay Leela Bhansali tried to cast them together in “Bajirao Mastani”, Aish refused the role since she doesn’t want any more controversies. The relation between them ended, when Sallu created a scene during the making of “Chalte Chalte” of which Aish was the part initially. Their romantic link started with Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and ended with the same movie.

Anyway, recently we heard that Aish has no hard feelings for the actor, so we can just hope to see them together again. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.

• Shahrukh & Kajol

This is one of the dignified and respectable on-screen pairs. Never a word about the duo, though they worked in number of romantic movies. Highly professional and respectable actors, thy can teach the doyen of Bollywood the definition of self-respect. Never a single scoop story printed tells about the pair.

They gave the biggest hit of Bollywood, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge but not a single wrong word about them.

The grapevine has it that Ajay doesn’t like Kajol working with King Khan therefore even in the recent movie of Yash she is signed against Aamir. So we can say another Bollywood pair ending in chaos.

• Rajesh Khanna & Mumtaz

Another dignified on-screen pair. Though our own KAKAJI was well known as “flirtatious man”, even then I don’t know how he managed to keep low his on-screen link and chemistry with the actress. They worked together in a score of movies. But never a word in the scoop magazines. No denying the fact that the on-screen presence of the two actors sizzled the audience, but it was much more than this. they both were highly talented and professional. Very few of us know that mumtaz is suffering from cancer and can succumb to death any time.

• Dharmendra & Hema

This is one pair that ended tying the knot. One can imagine the intensity of the relation with the fact that our “macho man” divorced his wife for the sake of the “dream girl”. Though they didn’t work in many movies whenever they came they were a hit. Very few of know that Dharam Paji is one of the most emotional males on Earth while its Hema ji who is much stronger.

Nothing much heard about the duo for a long time but we hope that they are enjoying happy married life.

• Jeetendra & Sri

They gave hits after hits together and at one point of time people felt that they will end up marrying but uncertainty is what prevailed and though they were a hit pair they never got into any emotional link. Though Jaya Prada shared great on-screen presence with the actor it was Sri who was a hot treat.

May it be Himmatwala, Tohfa or Sada Suhagan, they were always a hit.

How can we forget our jumping jack with his white suit and shoes dancing with thunder thighs in her fiery costumes.

• Rishi & Neetu

Another on-screen pair that culminated in marriage. Neetu gave up movies after she got married with “chintu”. But they were always a treat on-screen. Though Rishi was equally liked with Dimple it was Neetu who mantle the hearts of the masses. People often wonder as what they had in common to put the stage on fire but very few of us know that in “kapoor khandan” if there is one pair that has stood to the family name then its of Rishi and Neetu. Hope to hear about them soon.

• Dev & Madhu

One perfect pair, Madhubala the ultimate name in beauty and Dev Sahab, an institution in himself. The charm of these two moved the directors crazy and at one point of time we found all the directors casting them together. But it didn’t go far and Madhubala, “the virgin beauty” died a painful death.

Whatever, it could have been a perfect couple if …….

• Nargis & Raj

Who can forget the intimate song between them – “pyar hua hai iqrar.” from the movie Shree 420. Don’t know why, but whenever I think of Raj Sahab, its Nargis who comes to my mind as his ultimate girl.

The on-screen presence of the duo was a fete. Though no vulgarity was involved, the link between them was conveyed in a subtle way. No kisses and no hugs but even then the audience could feel the heat between them. Raj Sahab was an admirer of beauty and was much influenced by Charlie Chaplin whereas the leading lady “Nargis”, was unique, very pure and far from any influence.

The pair still haunts the moviegoers.

• John & Bipasha

This pair never tries to hide anything from the public. They are seeing each other has been made too obvious by the duo that recently a paper addressed then as “wife and husband”.

Too bindaas they are, wonder if Big B and Rekha would have done the same then what would have been the reaction of the readers and audience. They both are hot but still they have a long way to go, because it’s not only JISM but the matching of the souls.
