When you think about writing a review on your favorite 5/10 anything, you probably expect lots of criticism from other MS members, as they may not agree with your choice. I know its hard to take honest criticism particularly from a relative or a friend but I wont mind taking frank opinions from my friends of MS about my favorite Summer Destination. So, now I will write about my favorite 5- Summer Destination & believe me…The places I am going to name in my review are among the very best in India.
Ok, here goes…
1)Shimla: Shimla is Himachal Pradesh’s capital. It is India’s most famous & largest hill station.This hill station is a favorite spot for Indian families & honeymooners.The people are also very friendly & helpful & they somewhat resemble the Nepali’s. The climate is very cold & chilled as compared to other hill stations of India & if you are lucky you may experience the Indian snowfall. If you are visiting Shimla for the first time then don’t forget to travel in its Toy-Train that starts its journey from Kalka.
There are many places to visit in Shimla like The Mall,State Museum, The Ridge, The Victorian-Gothic spire of Christ Church (Shimlas most famous landmark) & many other.
2)Kalimpong: Kalimpong is again a hill station situated in the foothills & deep valleys of the Himalayas. It is sometimes referred to as the little sister of Darjeeling but unlike its elder sister, Kalimpong is not a tea town or resort. Its famous for its beautiful flowers (Orchids & Gladioli’s).
There are places like Dr.Graham’s Homes, Gompas (Bhutanese monastery), Durpin Dara (Surveying point of kalimpong), Deolo, Tenth Mile & many other to see.
3)Mahabaleshwar: Mahabaleshwar is Maharashtra’s most famous hill station. The best part about this hill station is that its only 290Km away from the city of Mumbai.It’s very small in size as compared to Shimla & other hill stations but the scenic beauty is just as magnificent as others.
There are around 30 view points at Mahabaleshwar like Wilson point, Venna lake, Old Mahabaleshwar temple, sunset point & alos the old fort of Pratapgarh & many more.
4)Srinagar: Srinagar is the summer capital of Kashmir. Its Often referred to as the paradise on earth & was the most prominent place among honeymooners & foreign tourist. Srinagar was the best tourist destination in India but due to the on going cross border terrorism by our neighbors its very risky now.
Shankaracharya Temple, Hazratbal Mosque, Dal lake, Nagin lake, apple gardens, Gulmarg & many other beautiful places.
5)Manali:Manali is located in the state of Himachal Pradesh.People visiting Shimla often pay a short visit to this stunning Hill Station as well.Though,its very similar in structure & formation to Kalimpong it’s a must visit place for everyone.
Places of interest in Manali are the Rohtang Pass, Dunghri Temple, The Gompas,Old Manali & others….
