I have to admit that I am addicted to Indian movies.I didn't realise it in the past and I didn't agree with my friends that I am addicted to hindi cinema, they believed one day I will speak hindi instead of Arabic. Yes I love to watch Indian movie and I'd rather spend 3 hours to watch Indian movie than spending 90 min in watching Arabic movie.
I think that the majority on MS readers don't know that we have big cinema industry started 80 years ago.it is centered in Cairo .It was strong until end of 70's . I decided to make small comparison between the two industries which will make you know why I love Indian movies.
The production:The main factor of the failure of all Arabic movies is the production. we don't have companies to produce movies so the result poor movies. in the other hand the Indian movie is produced with big budget by big companies. the production of Indian movies makes us say WAW. No arabic movie can reach the level of indian movie in term of production.The sad thing is to produce arabic movie you have to spend 75% of the budget for the main actor .
Plot: I think that in this point Arabic movie wins. We have movies with strong, logical, real stories while Indian movies not much of them have logical story and that is the negative point that is taken against India cinema.
*ACTORS &ACTRESSES: The main positive factor in hindi movie in the arabian point of view.The handsome actor and the beautiful actress is some thing we rarely have in arabic movies.We do have beautiful actresses but not that much.unfortunately we don't have handsome actors . Also bollywood always try to find new actors and actresses and gives them chance unlike us our main actors are now 60 years old .Cairo rarely gives chance to new actor or actress. I feel so sad when I watch a 50 years actor playing a role o college boy.
Song & dancing: we don't have the the eye catching dancing and the beautiful songs in our movies and even if they tried it can not be compared with the indian songs. some time bollywood copies some arabic songs such as( aamir khan & rani song in mann for example) but I always find that the indian version is better.
Direction: bollywood has excellent directors and many of them young unlike us. we have old directors, they refuse to give a chance to the new generation.
At the result arabic movie formula is:
strong plot+poor production+old directors+ugly & old actors=boring movie.
Indian movie formula is:
*weak plot+high budget production+excellent director+handsome actor&beautiful actress+nice songs=entertaining movie
So now I will leave the decision to you do I have to quit indian movies?
