Toilet: A Prem Katha', the name itself shows that the story has been woven around the toilet. Love of Keshav(Akshay) goes extensively with Jaya(Bhumi Pendnekar) resulting they got married. Just after suhagrat when other women invite Jaya to the Lota party next morning, then Jaya knows that there is no toilet in the house. All women have to go in the open field for toilet, before sunrises in the open field. In such a situation, Jaya clearly denies Keshav that since her childhood, she has always used toilets in her house, so she will not go to open field for toilet.
Keshav's father is a Brahmin and because they worship Tulsi which situated in the court of their house refused construct toilet. The Panchayat is also supported Keshav`s father for not making toilet in the house. In this case, what Keshav has done in the wife's love, has been woven on this thread - Toilet Ek Prem Katha
Priyanka Bharti who left her husband's house for this reason. The story of the same is the inspiration of this movie. Even after this, Paro Devi of Uttar Pradesh, Sunita of Bihar, Archana of Madhya Pradesh, Anita of Madhya Pradesh also appeared, who refused to go for toilets in open fields.
The film'Toilet: A Prem Katha' is definitely an honest effort. Even today, in many parts of India, women have to go to the open fields for toilet. To make a film on this issue, Shri Narayana Singh`s efforts can be appreciated to make this film.
The scene of women going toilet in open field during day may demand of the film but it does not acceptable.
Efforts in Cinematography may make the film beautiful.
In evil Indian society, which is also a hesitation in speaking, the effort to make the film on this issue should be appreciated. Also, it can be seen for the excellent performance of Akshay Kumar and Land Pedenkar.
