Diamonds are a girl?s best friends but a chocolate will melt my heart! Also, being the occasion on my 25th revu, what better way to celebrate it with my fellow MSians who?ve stood by me and have been the driving force that drove me to write 25 revus :D Hence, I chose this topic coz TOBLERONE happens to be my most favorite among the chocolates!! So, let me share some Toblerone?oops, I meant some info on Toblerone with you! Let?s CELEBRATE!


So, you think you're a chocoholic? You're not the only one. From the fifteenth century to the modern day, the rich and famous have expounded the virtues of the cocoa bean. But, I?ll stick to Toblerone stats in this revu.


How it all began:


Let me ask you to give a standing ovation to Jean Tobler, the man who paved the path to my heart, err? I meant, the man who opened his first store, the ''Confiserie Spéciale'', in the Länggass quarter in Bern/Switzerland in 1867. In the next 30 years the popularity for Tobler?s chocolate products rises by leaps & bounds and he sets up his own Chocolate Factory along with his sons-named ? Fabrique de Chocolat Berne, Tobler & Cie.?


TOBLERONE is born in 1908, Thanks to Theodor Tobler (Jean Tobler's son) and Emil Baumann (production manager and Tobler's cousin) who developed this unique chocolate.


''TOBLERONE'' is a word play upon the names ''Tobler'' and ''Torrone,'' the Italian word for honey-almond nougat Another fact is that TOBLERONE is the first patented milk chocolate with almonds and honey. TOBLERONE itself epitomizes Switzerland. Don?t believe me? Well, take a closer look at it?s logo?with the Eagle and the flag with the symbolic T.


The best came in 1969 when TOBLERONE became available as semi-sweet Dark TOBLERONE. This, by far, is the best according to me. Too bad that I discovered this heavenly delight just last month : )


WHITE TOBLERONE came into the market in 1973 and now we also have the TOBLERONE Minis (12,5 g) since past 10 years.


Hey! Anybody among you have tried the Blue TOBLERONE? It is supposed to be the first Filled TOBLERONE, which was introduced in the market in 1996. I?ve never got the chance to lay my hands on this one yet : ( btw, these are available in the mini pack as well.


Their Secret:


UNIQUENESS!! That?s exactly what made these chocolates a brand apart, to stand apart! With it?s one-of-it?s-kind triangular shape, the troughs & peaks, the alphabets embossed on each piece of this chocolaty delight (that together spell TOBLERONE), it?s packaging, it?s name?just about everything about this chocolate is UNIQUE?a Class Apart!


I did find a legal reason behind this uniqueness. I found this on their website and wish to share it with you coz my inquisitive self couldn?t help unearthing this & my friendly self can?t help sharing it with you! : )


Theodor Tobler had a hunch right from the beginning that his new product was destined for great fame. Concerned that someone else might imitate his product and threaten the success of TOBLERONE, his company, then Tobler AG, applied for a patent for the TOBLERONE manufacturing process in Bern in 1906. And so TOBLERONE became the first patented milk chocolate with almonds and honey.


The name TOBLERONE was also registered as a brand name in Switzerland in 1909. Today, TOBLERONE's world-famous name, its packaging and its triangular shape - its true symbol - are registered brands in many countries throughout the world.

What does ur MOOD crave for?:


A sad but true fact is that the full line of TOBLERONE is not available in every country & in every shop. The main reason behind this is that due to varying customer preferences TOBLERONE is available according to that particular markets needs & desires. However, whatever mood u are in for- a light or a dark chocolate desire ? you?ll find a TOBLERONE that suits your taste and pampers your mood!


My experience:


Having tasted the normal chocolaty TOBLERONE since past 20 years(something that was a must-buy on my loved one?s list, right from my dad to the uncle who came visiting every year from Dubai. Blame them for spoiling me :D but, I graciously Thank them with all my heart!) This one has been universally liked by all chocolate lovers and I can bet on that. Then I was introduced to White TOBLERONE and I like this one too, especially for the li?l surprise that I get in the form of chocolate dipped almond flakes amidst the milky white sin! I already told you that I haven?t tasted Blue TOBLERONE, so somebody got to tell me about that experience. Finally, my most beloved ?Dark TOBLERONE? conquered my heart, my taste buds, my senses?everything with it?s velvety smoothness, the kiss of bliss?as I call it!
