How Toastmasters Can Help You.

We all realize that to be successful in business, we must be effective listeners as well as communicators. Toastmasters offers communication and leadership programs to help people from all backgrounds and walks of life to learn to speak effectively, conduct meetings, manage departments or businesses, lead, delegate and motivate.

As you improve your skills, it becomes obvious within the workplace thereby increasing your chances of promotion, higher pay and the respect of your colleagues and employees.

More information about Toastmasters International

  1. Toastmasters was established in 1924 by Dr. Ralph C. Smedly and has around 175,000 members in over 8,800 clubs in more than 70 countries around the world.

  2. The program can be tailored to suit the individuals needs and is updated to meet participants needs.

  3. Participants are on a self-paced program of study and progress as rapidly or slowly as their needs dictate.

  4. Toastmasters Clubs meet at various locations and times, so finding a club that meets at a convenient time is made easier.

  5. They offer an atmosphere of professional camaraderie that makes the club a unique learning environment.

  6. New members receive membership kits that contain a copy of the basic communication and leadership manuals, general orientation materials and other information regarding skill improvements in areas such as speech evaluation and the use of gestures.

  7. Members are assigned various speeches to help the participant develop competency in areas such as organization, voice inflection and persuasiveness. They are also taught to think on their feet by asking to deliver short impromptu speeches that only last a minute or two.

And a lot more wonderful skills are offered by this group.

In Closing

After viewing the site, and reading over the material presented on this site, I have decided to look into joining myself. I think it would be a wonderful club to be a member of. Not only will it help by being around other individuals that are bettering themselves. But it will better help me to learn the organizational skills needed in conducting business in this ever changing and fast paced world in which we live.

At only sixteen dollars to join and eighteen dollars ever six months for membership dues, I think it is a great bargain.
