This book had been recommended by almost everyone, and now I know why!Harper Lee beautifully describes the lives of Maycomb country Alabama folks. Their cultures, their beliefs, the lives of their children and the simple mentality of the people.
It's a love story as Harper Lee quotes in her statements. A very different one that what we usually mean by it. The bonding between a brother and a sister, the family relations, love for their father'Atticus Finch' is so beautifully told, that you just don't want the book to end. You'll feel like a character in itself, as the author narrates the activities.
There's a point in the story where the kids surround their father to protect him from the mob of people who they pass-by everyday. I mean, these are the kind of things that made it a Pulitzer Prize winner!
The significance of'Boo Radley' character as it unfolds in the last chapter, is brilliantly done.
This book has been a very enjoyable read. I'm certainly looking forward to reading her recently published'Go Set a Watchman'.
