Royal Enfield launched ‘Thunderbird’, a 350cc bike in the cruiser class.
The motorcycle was powered by a 350cc, four-stroke engine that delivered 18 bhp and featured five-speed, heal-toe operated gears on the left side with right side braking and AV carburetors.
Available in four colours, ‘Riviera Red’, ‘Ocean Black’, ‘Purple Blue’ and ‘Silver Ash’
The disc-brake version will cost Rs 4, 000 more. The conventional gear and breaking system is aimed at making it easy for them to upgrade to this machine. The Thunderbird will be its own ambassador and will be pushed through Royal Enfield Clubs all over the country, apart from retail outlets.Thunderbird, tentatively priced a Rs 70, 000(on road), The motorcycle would be fitted with a unique 5-speed left side gearbox and right side braking facility the four-stroke engine would deliver 18 BHP.
