I never read mythological books as such but with this genre of mythological fiction, even a person with scientific temperament read such books.
I loved the Shiva trilogy by Amish .It is a must-read for everyone who finds themselves astray as it teaches you lessons of love patience and bravery in a style very different from conventional mythological tales that we were told when we were young.
I would also recommend the authors just released book Scion of Ikshvaku for all the avid readers there. I have read all the books in pdf format.
