Induction Cooker, a kitchen wonder. Review on Tips on Induction Cookers

G.Johnson Manickaraj, Chennai: Sleek induction cooker of Strobe brand 2100W priced Rs.2100 that we use since October 24, 2008 has drastically reduced gas consumption to a large extent. I was inquiring about something else when I first saw the induction cooker looking very attractive and had no reservations in gifting my wife with a surprise machine. My wife did not like that first except for its beauty! I had to convince her to make a try. She was quite apprehensive of getting a shock. Now she enjoys cooking as it is also safe and found out that there is no chance of getting electric shock. 85% of cooking we do is by using Induction Cooker and only 15% is by gas stove(mainly used for cooking rice). It is light weight, can be taken along on tours, requires very little kitchen space, easy to use and saves lot of time (cooks very fast) and money(low electricity consumption)! Initially we found it to be quite difficult to use, but more than 2 years now my wife has mastered the art of cooking using induction cooker. From boiling water for bathing purpose.to make dosas, sambar, rasam, frying vegetables, meat, chicken, soup, boil milk, induction cooker can be used.

Another interesting aspect using this Induction Cooker is that cooked item is tasty. Moreover it also reduces cooking oil consumption and retains the flavour**.The only hitch is you have to use only flat bottom steel vessels which are available in plenty. Recently we bought Premiere idly and Butterfly rice cookers and we are happy with their performance. We book gas only once in 4 months and are also not worried about sudden shortage of gas cylinders and price hikes! We also save Rs.120 per month. Truly a value for your money.
