We opted deejos interiors for our new house. Choice was influenced by following reasons.
1) Prices looked competitive
2) Office was near our house
3) We got a feeling that they operate at big scale and have good name in Chennai
Design Phase:
Design phase was good, they have two designers both are hardworking and very prompt on followups. We were shown 10 - 20 pics of each product. we were not looking for something extra ordinary so we were OK with it. design phase completed in 15 days.
Material selection:
For laminates they have tie up with only one random laminate company and you have to select only from those laminates. Design team will not suggest anything for laminates, you are left on your own. For handles there is no selection, they have only one handle.
We wanted soft closing hinges in kitchen for which they were charging 4x of actual price difference. we wanted extra drawers in wardrobe for which they quoted very high value.
Execution:
We realized that they have only one guy+ one manager in the execution team. Manager who claims to work from bangalore office lives permanently in chennai. One guy was over burdened and he never answered calls.
This is when we thought of visiting some of the completed projects from deejos
People were very unhappy and advised to cancel the project. We saw stucked wardrobe door because the board used for the door bent, holes in kitchen cabinets(due to incorrectly fitted handles), nails coming out of bed, beats coming out and all this within 15 days after completion. Delay in projects because their factory is in Chennai. People were literally cursing them.
Finally opted out before starting any execution
Refund process was ok we had to follow up for~20 days. we were charged 5% of project cost.
Closing thoughts:
Though the initial pricing looked OK they were charging very high for modifications and believe me you can't get away with modifications. Though the price of basic furniture like wardrobe is competitive they charge very high for false ceiling, lighting, wallpapers. They have good marketing, sales and design team, but there execution(in-charge+ carpenters) team is literally pathetic and unprofessional. They are super very busy and they never pick up calls. 15 years warranty is just words.
After deejos:
We opted for a carpenter recommended by one of my friend. Project is now complete, we are very happy with our opt out decision.
