Haunting Horror

Hello MSters! It?s been a long time ?isn?t it? For what?!?!? (ahem!) Okay so now I know what?s the drawback of staying away from people for nearly 6 months?they tend to forget you?(nah! just kidding)

Don?t know about you guys but I really did miss MS and your rocking reviews all through my ?good? days of studying for my Boards?I did well and to check out my results?you could always send an M2M and ask for my registration number?

By the way?this review is precisely based on the period from December 2003 - March 2004 i.e. the ?Haunting horror? of my lifetime. (If you were wondering what my title was up to)

To state a few valid and straight reasons?

  1. By the Dec. 5th 2003, a day before the Miss World contest, I, like many of my other classmates was mentioning some ?irrelevant? facts about glamour and beauty to my parents during an evening walk?it was hardly before I had finished my ?nonsense?, that my mother had me realize I was behaving like one of the 5 selected contestants waiting excitedly for the final results! As if that wasn?t enough?

  2. ?My father on the 6th of December informed me about my Chemistry test which I should have been more bothered about than Ms. India not winning the contest! He also stated that the BBC or CNN channel would have been far more innovative and informative than the Star World or B4U?along with the fact that good channels like the BBC were not interested in the Ms. World contest. That was why they hadn?t declared anything for congratulating Rosella (Ms. Ireland?the deserving winner) even after three hours of the contest?s decline! (Did anybody tell me that it was the fastest news network?)

  3. When I flicked through pages of ?Sport-On? in the newspaper some days later and cooed ?Beckham?, I was reminded that he had no role to play in ?Magnetism and heating effects?, the chapter I was supposed to be revising then.

  4. Not long before the same, my mother brought me the last five years question papers from my ?brilliant? neighbor according to whom I had already possessed them?but my mother like all good Moms, basically knows me too well and so she carried them along?unfortunately at that instant, I was talking my best friend about ?Kal Ho Na Ho??s new song then? It?s the time to Disco!? As fast-paced as they could ?my dialogues underwent a plastic-surgery??Shah Rukh?s not gonna help me with Hindi?is he? And Priety is no great physician and what about Saif?does he take tuitions in Maths?.I mean part-time?? It was late enough by the time I realized that I was using Super-Star?s names and not any Terrific-Tutors!!!

  5. Oh yes! How can I forget the pleadings for attending the Christmas parties? We had three of them organized for the day and according to my peers, all of us would be coming!!! Disgustedly, I informed such unbelievable facts to my parents who cancelled the thought of thinking about my party-attendance.

  6. I also managed to cook up stories of just one party and stuff?but ??You?re in the 10th baby!? Wow?What a contrast!!! A 10th standard student? a baby! How cool is that?

  7. The New-Year Party was finally kept in my house despite my Mom?s reluctance and so I could get off well. (Probably the only day in the period!)

  8. January?we had our Model (Fake) Exams and they were no different at school; our teachers with hell lot of corrections in the writing skill and stuff?I scored terrible marks even in Math and English! And my parents were now making it compulsory to attend the monthly parent-teacher meetings, which seemed to approach a bit too soon?

  9. We did well in the Pre-Boards (Yes, they are different from the Model ones)?but what sickened me was the procedure we were made to practice time to time! Unnecessary information on the first page?low-quality paper (you use a pointed pen and it tears!!!)?frequent signatures?yuck!

  10. But here was something interesting, tying the paper with the thread provided?the papers are punched and you got to pass that piece of thread though the holes and tie it?I disliked for the first paper; but later it was like a better pass-time than checking the paper thrice before the bell rang!

  11. It was finally the big day?the 3rd of March 2004 had arrived and it didn?t give a very good feeling even after a good preparation for Social Studies. I couldn?t sleep the previous night due to maybe?excitement and some other withdrawal?and getting up at 6:00 in the morning didn?t seem like a good idea! Well at least I could do well and smile when my teachers hugged me for saying, ?I expect above 90??and my parents had the gleam of satisfaction when I repeated the line at home.

  12. Same story with the other exams and now I am?waiting for the results?on second thoughts, praying they are delayed due to some reason! Hey, that doesn?t mean I didn't do well?does it?
