Wear sensible shoes not heels

I was going away for a holiday away to a countryside bed and breakfast for a few days sort of a girlie few days away, so I decided to treat myself to a lovely new Bally black patent 4-inch high heel shoes and matching evening handbag to match, I know some women may regard black patent as old fashioned, for the older woman or classed as being tarty, but I think that black patent is quite feminine and if well matched with clothes then they look well. As I was going away with a girl friend called Sarah to the countryside and I was looking forward to getting up to all girlie things and most of all getting all dolled up and able to use my new evening handbag and high heels. I am a real feminist at heart.  .

One evening during the stay the girl friend suggested that we should go out and look round the boats. We decided that we would go out to the local pub and then go down to look round the boats at the peer on the way back to the bed and breakfast we were staying at, so after spending ages getting all dolled up to our finest which I decided to wear a white pattern short sleeved blouse, black skirt to match the high heels and matching handbag, did my makeup and lipstick, the amount of jewellery that I was wear is a lot, a silver locket / chain, two silver bracelets, one gold watch on my left wrist and on my right wrist I had another gold watch and fashion bracelet after I got dressed I sorted my handbag out with perfume, keys, my new Max Factor pink lipstick and other items. The reason why I wear so much jewellery is just adore jewellery, wearing 2 watches didn’t look odd, and they looked quite well with the bracelets. I felt quite dressed up and I looked stunning in my new shoes and handbag, which set off the outfit, I am a real feminist at heart.

Coming back from the pub Sarah and I decided to go to the park for a stroll along the peer / jetty, Sarah asked could I walk on the rough ground in my high heels, I said I have no problem walking anywhere in high heel shoes.  As we were coming back along the peer / jetty I caught my heel of my shoe in between the timber I decided to keep my foot in the shoe as I thought it would be easier, than taking my foot out of the shoe as I would be balanced on one heel, as the friend and I tugged the heel of me shoe out of between the timber I then stumbled straight into the deep water with nothing to hold onto I went with all my jewellery, shoes, watches, clothes and my lovely new handbag came off my shoulder as I landed in the water. At the same time as I was landing in the water I shouted to my friend, try and save my good handbag, I soon realized that it was too late to prevent my watches or handbag from getting wet as they had already got wet by me landing in the water and by the splashing about that I was doing when I hit the water, I looked round to see if I could see my handbag, and then I saw that it was floating in the water I was very surprised that it hadnt sunk, the friend said go and recover your handbag and then come over to me and hand me your handbag and try to get out, but I couldn’t get out as the peer was too high up to get up on it, so the friend suggested that I would try and remove my watches to give to her but I said to her to late to prevent them getting wet.

I decided that I didn't wish to take the risk of removing my two good dressy and expensive watches in case they came off out of my hands whilst removing then in the deep water, as it was too high to get out I opted to swim around the jetty to the shallow end of the lake, which took over five minutes. As I was swimming my watches were loose on my wrist and I could feel them dragging in the water onto my bracelets which I didn’t like the thought of, then the safety chain of one of the watches that I had on got caught on the button of my blouse, after spending a few minutes unhooking the chain from the button of my blouse I was able to swim back. .

I was very upset that my good new dressy handbag had got destroyed and the stuff that I had in my handbag which had a lot of expensive items which was very expensive perfume, lipstick and a very old fashioned watch, which was 60-70 years old. I didn’t wish to lose it in a lake if it came out of my handbag; I got very upset over it and felt very stupid of how it happened. .

When I was able to get to the shallow part of the lake I had to walk on rocks and mud my heels of the shoes got ruined as I grappled the rocks with my feet to get out, I looked a right sight and I was very embarrassed due to fact of me going into the water because I caught my heel in between the timber and subsequently fell into the water and got soaking wet. I didn’t want to walk back to the bed and breakfast soaking wet, and I didn’t wish for anyone to see me soaking wet, as it was a sunny, hot evening, I removed my blouse and kept my skirt on, luckily there weren’t any men around the place so I felt safe with my friend suggested to remove my blouse, the friend said that my bra could be seen through my blouse when I got wet so I said it would make no difference if I removed my blouse to allow the heat to dry it off, as I lay on the grass the heat sort of dried off the skirt and I was able to get dried off to a state that I didn’t look drenched. I was expecting to have at least one watch broken due to the water as I got the same watch wet before which then broke but I was very lucky the same watch which couldnt take the amount of water that a bath would have, it with stood the deep water of the lake and didnt even steam up.  The old fashioned watch steamed up for a bit, my lipstick seemed fine and my perfume eventually dried out.

It was a very costly and embarrassing experience for me as I caught my heel of my shoe, my handbag got totally destroyed and everything things but I wont be wearing high heels near the peer / jetty again.

I SHOULD HAVE WORN MORE SENSIBLE SHOES NOT HIGH HEEL SHOES DOWN AROUND THE PEER / JETTY TO LOOK ROUND THE BOATS.  How many women has this happened too?.Alisonblack73@fsmail.net
