Why BOARDS create terror in a students life(no statistical records for this) that a bad result would lead them to end their lives? There is so much a child has to see or go through in life. BOARDS cannot be the end of it. It’s so painful for a family who has faced this. If it were not for boards, their child would have been with them. Do BOARDS decide fate of an individual?
Have parents bought them up for this? There are so many suicidal cases year after year. Why many students go into depression as boards are nearing? There are many cases where because of depression students are unable to appear for boards. Parents roam here and there for their treatment. Are these things that parents with their child have to face just because he/she has to appear for boards? Have parents facing all hazards in life bought them up just to see their of career or life before starting?
Why parents create a prestige issue that until unless their child seeks an admission in science stream they would stand nowhere? Why they should play with their child’s life when he/she is not willing to take up that course?
There are many students who do not fare well throughout the year not even till the pre-boards. Yet they score 85% or above and students who are among the toppers in the class have to get satisfied with 78% or so. How can this be possible?
All these things did circulated around me and chidren whom I knew did really faced it. May be education system changes one day so that both parents and children show a grin.
Being an Indian, this is only my thoughts which has disturbed me a lot thinking of what children has to face in this fast moving world.
