After education, one should know how to launch themselves in the career market. Having a good cv plays a very crucial role in your launch. Your CV is a very important document; with it rest your hopes and dreams for the future. These days employers often receive a lot of CV's for each advertised position. So your CV has to be just that little bit special to stand out if you want to obtain interviews.

Lets analyse the reasons why CV's are rejected as if one knows the general failures they care can be overcome.

Not results orientated: Make sure you write your objective and also mention your achievements. Most people start of without mentioning their objectives.Listing of relevant course work to match career objective. You'll generate a better response with your curriculum vitae if it is well organized and is packed with relevant information to match and support your professional, academic or research objective.

Poor Layout: The layout of your CV is very important. If people cannot find the information they want quickly they will move on to other CV's. So use appropriate headings.

Length: Make sure your CV is not too long. It is ideal to have a CV not longer than 2 pages unless asked for it. So pack all the information in 2 pages. Do not write big paragraphs. Write short and crisp sentences under appropriate sections which have an effect on the reader.

Organizing the information: If your CV is not well organized the reader will find it hard to follow and decide. So organize your information under categories such as personal, educational details, work experience.

Too little information: Sometimes we have very little information on the CV. So make sure you have details of previous work experience included. If you are a fresher make sure you include the projects that you undertook.

Spelling Errors: Make sure you get your CV spell checked as often spelling mistakes present in a CV pulls off a person.

Make sure you CV has the follows

Professional Objective

Summary of Qualifications

Professional Certifications and technical skills

Education Certifications

Educational or Professional Awards

Work Experience

Research work and presentations if any done

Related Extracurricular Activities, Professional and Association Memberships and interests

Community Involvement
