For most people, looking for a job is stressful. It is mentally, physically and emotionally difficult. Those who have access to the internet can try to find a job online.
There are thousands of job banks you will find when you begin to explore the internet.I will just give you a few examples of them before letting you do the job hunting yourself.
There is a classic website called 'The Riley Guide'. It has all the tools you need to aid in your job search. The address is, https://dbm.com/jobguide/ When time permits, please go through this site. You will find a lot of information relating to job search.
Margaret Dikel's guide contains hundreds of links to other sites with job offers, career and salary information, job search tips, resume advice, employer's profiles and many other topics. Most of the information is specific to the United States and Canadian job seekers.
You will find Asia-Net, which is a clearing house of jobs. But, here you need to know atleast two languages , specifically English, Japanese, Korean or Chinese! That is why it is always good to be equipped with learning another foreign language other than English. You can use the 'A-Z' to find information on a specific topic.A visit there will show you just how much information is available on this site!
Students who wish to know more about specific occupations, can log on to https://dbm.com/jobguide/careers.html You will find a great deal of information here.
Another web classic is 'The Job Hunter's Bible'. This site is put together by Richard Bolles, author of the book 'What Color is Your Parachute?',a best seller on career-planning and job-searching. Bolles evaluates the usefulness of a number of web sites and presents topics such as finding job opportunities, online resumes, getting help and advice and networking. In Canada, there is what is called, 'The Canadian Resume Centre'.It is a new service on the Internet, designed to assist job seekers, both employed and unemployed, in making contact with potential employers.Your resume can be made available to employers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This system allows your experience to be seen by employers who use the Internet as a means to identify candidates they wish to hire.
For unemployed candidates. having your resume marketed through this service is an easy, cost-effective way of introducing yourself to a wide range of employment possibilities. Interested employers can contact the candidate directly.
So, putting your resume on the internet is very important as more and more employers are using the Internet when searching for candidates to fill positions. They are fed up with the expense of advertising and also going through hundreds of resumes of people who are not qualified.
I hope this helps and 'Best of luck again' from me, in your job search thro' the Internet!
