Lexihut- An Australia based transcription company

It’s not fair-practice

Lexihut says it is 100% Australian-owned and run Transcription Company and they are proud to be so being specialize in Legal & Medical Transcription. They also say that their management team have worked in the Legal & Medical field for over 19 years and understand the mechanics of what is required to run a smooth transcription business.

They also say that they are in partnership with a Technology organization and firmly believe in the innovative moves with new technology and remote working. Beside they are advertising on prominent sites for recruitment for typists with particular level of typing efficiency.

We have seen the changes over the last 10 years from local transcription to overseas outsourcing. However, we can see that outsourcing overseas is not as attractive as it once was for the profession. The Privacy Act has certain policies hanging over outsourcing overseas and there have been many fall outs with high staff turnover causing havoc in overseas transcription business models. We here at Lexihut strongly believe lawyers and specialists should use local Australian service providers for confidential files and patient records.

We are very competitive with our rates and make it affordable for our clients to keep their work local and for it to be done by a specialist transcriber. When working with us you know that you’re supporting Australian Families. We support legal secretaries, paralegals and medical secretaries to be able to do what they love and do best from the comfort of their own home.

The site says they have an amazing growing team with our transcribers located all around Australia. But as much I know about Lexihut Pty Ltd I have only recently seen them advertising as a legal transcription business based in Sydney when they advertised on SEEK. And an advertisement in upwork.com offering jobs to freelancers in Australia also says that they offer jobs to only Australians. But why only Australians if others have required expertise in this job? That sounds very dodgy about it all. By the way they hire people from other countries which ask for a lower rate.

I know a person who says "A supposed four-phase process where they take your resume and run". The first phase is 3 screen shots of typing speed test which they emphasize need to be at least 75-80 wpm to move to the next stage. But they are never satisfied with something or the other because when you send them those three screenshots, you get a message saying they are not happy with your resume and you have not passed phase 1 and your application will not proceed further.

By the way they also use an option on SEEK to advise that your application will not be proceeding. And would you believe that their website and emails are full of red flags, with tons of typing and grammar errors, no information on them except for their website which leads to physical addresses in Queensland, Victoria, and now Sydney. I don't think this website is illegal but they are newbie in the field.
