How I (luckily) got my money back from Timtara

If you ever pay and order an item from Timtara.YOU ARE DOOMED. Be ready for several weeks of mental torture, sleepless nights and you will curse yourself for this grave mistake. This is what I went through after I was attracted by the huge discounts on Timtara website and placed an order with Timtara in early Jan 2012. The delivery period committed on the website was 8 - 10 days. But the Order status always showed "Awaiting Shipment" for almost 27 days. I waited for 10 days delivery period but Timtara did not ship the item, nor did they inform me about the reasons for delay. I tried a lot to call up their customtakeouter care helpline but nobody picks up the phone there.


I got worried and searched the internet for reviews on Timrara. Most of the complaints are about NON-SHIPMENT of ordered items for several weeks and NON-REFUND of money….which shows the HORRIBLE customtakeouter support of Timtara.


I immediately emailed Timtara on all possible email IDs(raja@timtara.com, cco@timtara.com, abose@timtara.com, customtakeouterfirst@timtara.com, shivali@timtara.com, bharat@infosecure.co.in, imtiaz@timtara.com) asking commitment for a shipment date. I just kept on getting false assurances that the item will be shipped in 4 working days, then 3 more working days, then 24 working hours.but the item was never shipped. Neither did they ship the item nor did they refund the money despite telling them to cancel the order after 2nd un-honoured time commitment. They just kept on writing that we will ship the order the next day. After several weeks of follow-up almost on daily basis, I lost all hope.


I then sent emails to CCAvenue(Here are their contact details https://ccavenue.com/contact_us_ccav.jsp) who are the payment gateway provider for Timtara and told them about the customtakeouter harassment and cheating being carried out by Timtara. Immediately the next day some Raja Singh from Timtara called me(remember they never picked my calls when I called the call center) and asked me to take my complaint back. I told him that he better refund the money without which I will not take back the complaint. The same day Raja canceled the order and the Order status showed "Payment refund pending". I kept on following up with CCAvenue even after this, till I got a reassuring mail from CCAvenue that Timtara has refunded the money and it will reflect in my bank account in next 3 - 4 days. Today I received the funds in my bank account and I breathed a sigh of relief. I was lucky to get my money back, others may not be that lucky.


Apart from CCAvenue following are other options you can try to get your money back:


Call your bank(if you have paid via credit card) and ask them to CHARGEBACK the money due to NON-DELIVERY of goods in the committed time frame. Not only will the bank recover money from the merchant but will also impose a fine on the merchant. Register your complaint on other consumer rights websites such as akosha.com, grahakseva.com, complaintsboard.in, consumercourt.in etc. They have both free and paid services.
