PR & Sons service. Review on Timex Watches

My fastrack watch had a small problem and it was not working. I have given it to service at PR & Sons, Tambaram, Chennai in Dec 2009. I was told by the service person that, it needs to be serviced and will get a watch in a week. When the watch was returned back, the dial got changed with a different design. I asked for the reason and I was told that, the dial got broken and hence the dial got replaced. Since they didn't had the original design they changed it without my knowledge. I refused to accept and I asked them replace with original design. Then they sent the watch to TImex and got changed the dial. It took almost three months for the process. When I got the watch, this time, the watch strap was cut. When I asked the reason, they said the timex has cut the strap. Again they sent back to Timex for change of the strap.

This time it came back without any change after two months. The strap was not changed because the strap is not available in the market as the model is phased out. I used go every week to PR & Sons and call them regularly to check the status. But in vein. For the service they have charged about Rs. 150/-. Recently I went to check the status, the service person told me , If I am interested to take the watch ( it is in damaged condition) I can take or leave it. I spoke to the head office at Mount Road Chennai, there was no response. The local manager at Tambaram, told me that, he will provide a coupon which 75% worth of the watch. Which means , after the paying for the service (150 Rs) and less the 25% discount, it will be Rs. 400/- , I have to pay for their damage.

You can see the kind of service provided by the popular and well established (50 years of service) watch people in Chennai, who treats the customer as a worm.
