Review : To be frank I am not the one who is brought up in english environment at home or in many early education.So making english as primary language is more by default in educating myself to become surgeon. To move towards the line most important facilitator in early days was TOI without doubt. When one move ahead and try to read hundreds on newspaper on net or even outside,you always try to see which is real best from all aspect. In indian market if if we search for long term quality players the top three will be times of india ,indian express and hindustan times in metro cities. In bombay HT is non existant.So we have real choice between TOI and IE. Now when we compare on all standreds here are my personal observations. Starting with brand TOI is still most trusted brand in english daily in india. Quality of news reporting from analysis and depth point of view is still the best here. Quality of english is as good as any international daily in world.Most importantly much much better than indian express,HT . Gusest writers are from various section of society ,most of whom are high achivers and are sought after people in professional circuit. Even in sports they got all legends to write colums for them be it sunny or ravi for some time Viv.They always manage to get best people to write for them. There sports coverage is exhaustive dedicating more to cricket there by fulfilling the satiety of indian cricketlovers. There international coverage is much more wider compare to indian express with lot of views from across the globe be from america or combodia. ASCENT is probably best job suppliment in any english daily getting feeds from all best people in industry. Additional suppliments like education times and car and bikes take care of the young community once a week there by covering vast cross sections of population in age group criteria. The Bombay times is there for the people who like so hot and oomp from daily with all colors in 8 pages it definately popular in college peolple. Sunday Times has good range of sujects most of the times ranging from politics to sex education to spritual growth thats good stuff for holiday morning. Where one can like times to improve is going agaisnt establishment...cause one always see being trying to good balanced and responsible newspaper.TOI try to be politically correct most the times. We rarely find TOI breaking the story ,once its out they will report it best but they dont have courage like INDIAN Express has. They rarely do any investigative journalism. But all and all I think they as good as anyone else in international market.
