This is one service which I didn’t like from day 1. This is the worst service I have ever got.I came to see their AD as pin up on trees “Tikona Wi-Bro just for Rs. 499/-  per month with 5000 MB @2Mbps”. I called up the phone number on the poster and next day morning itself Mr. Arun Babu came promptly with a demo kit and all. To be frank, I was impressed with that. He connected his modem set and showed the speed. We checked the speed and performance for 10-15 minutes. It was showing around 1Mbps – 2Mbps fluctuation. But still it was good, so I immediately went for the connection. I paid a cheque of Rs.500 and went for for the 599 unlimited plan of 512 kbps & initial 200MB of 2 Mbps. He said I would get the connection by evening or by next day morning and they work from 9 am-10 pm. I stated that I preferred to get it in evening after 7 or in the morning before 10.30 before I leave to office. I went to office and bragged about it.


My colleague too wanted to take a connection on hearing this. By late evening, since  I didn’t get any call, I rang up Arun, he said the technical guy would come soon. But later it started to rain, so I gave up the hope. Next day morning around 8.30 am, I called Arun again to confirm. He said someone would come by 9.30. Till 10 I didn’t get any call. In between I had tried reaching Arun many times. Then as I was about to leave to office by 10.15, the technical guy called up asking if he can come in half an hour. I really got irritated and said that I am leaving to office. I had been trying from morning 8.30 and he’s calling me only at 10.15. He said that he got the call at 9.45 only.I told him to come in the evening after 7 or cancel the order. Then in the evening he came to fix it. For that after clearing all the temp files in system, he switched off the firewall saying that Tikona has some conflict if firewall is on (he told some vague logic). I checked the speed, it was hardly connecting. The speed was so slow, some 20kbps and all, that too fluctuating like hell. When I checked the ping service, the request was getting timed out many times. When I asked him about this, he said that some work was going on and it will be sorted out in 2-3 hours. He also said that the speed what I saw from the executive was only for demo sets. Their modems are configured separately that has high speed and all. Other thing which he said was , they work from 10:30 to 7 only and what the executive was saying was all false. He gave me a toll free number and told if any problem happens to call on that number. Throughout the night the speed was like that only. In morning when I switched it on, again it’s the same issue. I couldn’t get through to the customtakeouter care, so I called Arun and he didn’t pick the phone.  I took this connection on 29th July 2010. 30th whole day it was showing slow speed. 31st Morning the server was not connecting at all. Called up customtakeouter care and made the 1st complaint night around 9:15 p.m., they said they would do some remote repairing and told me to keep the modem, So I kept it on till 12 a.m and the shutdown the system and went to sleep. 2nd complaint on Sunday(1/8/10) morning around 10 a.m. - we kept it on till 1 p.m after which we went out. Came back by 9 p.m. and kept the modem on till 11:30p.m. 3rd complaint Monday (2/8/10) around 8:30 a.m. - kept modem on till 10:30 after which I came to work.


Each time I called, they said I would get some sms regarding it on my registered mobile, which I never got. Since I didn’t get any response I sent a mail to nodal officer Mr. Vikram Kathavate on 2/8/10 stating that I do not wish to continue on their service and would like to go for disconnection and a refund of my initial cheque.


The response I got was system generated mail:


“We regret  the inconvenience caused.


We have assigned your case to our Service Team.


We wish to confirm that Disconnection will done within 7 working days from the time of your disconnection request.


Please note your Nodal Officer Escalation Docket Number 1-684195340.


Please quote this number in case you wish to provide us additional feedback regarding your service issue.

After the 7 days deadline got over. My cheque was encashed on 9th August after I made the disconnection request. When I asked for refund, they were shameless enough to encash it.

I got a bill of Rs.892 on 15th for my usage till 14th. When I was hardly able to use internet for 1st 2 days and 3rd day the server got cut, after that I have just removed the modem and kept it aside. How will I get a bill of this much amount! So I made several complaints that day itself.


8th Complaint: (1-746910752) to Vijay (Call Centre) (August 21st)


He told me that it would get rectified in 7 days and to ignore the bill. (Again 7 more days). He told someone will come on 30th to collect the modem and that time I will get the refund.


9th Complaint: (1-746988063) to Vikram Kathavate (August 21st)


10th Complaint: (1-944429465) Bhama (Call Centre) (September 9th)


After getting no response for these many days, when I called up she said the request was taken only on august 21st and it will take 45 days from then. I really got irritated.


11th Complaint: (1-944580345) to Vikram Kathavate (September 9th)


12th Complaint: (Same number updated) Karthikeyen (Call Centre) (September 30th )


After these many days I hadn’t got any resolution. He said someone from higher authority will call me in 1 Hour. That call never came.


13th Complaint: (1-1308566961) Shekar (Call Centre) (October 15th )


It’s been 75 days after I sent the disconnection request, and I am still waiting for my refund. This guy promised me I will get a refund soon and this will be my last call. I hope so. I am really tired of the nodal officer who just sends a system generated response. If this also doesn’t work out what am I supposed to do?


Never go for Tikona. If I see any of their guys , they will get deaf ears from me.


I should have read previous reviews before buying this. Actually after seeing reviews here after buying only did I think of posting my experience. Terrible!!!!
