Few authors of past ever paid attention to history. Here is a book written by a french author who spins a yarn around anglo- french rivalry. Undoubtedly, he intersperses romance and court intrigue in this adventurous saga.
Dumas is admired by literary critics for adding humor, romance and adventure in his book.
They also praise him for making his readers familiarize with international politics of his era.
He has authored some other master pieces, particularly The Count of Mount Cristo.
My humble recommendation to all book lovers- read it with an open heart!
