I had booked a Europe trip with Thomas Cook Koramangala, Bangalore. Overall the experience was good. However, I faced some challenges and escalated the issue to the Customer Service Team.
The issue was that I was clearly instructed by Thomas Cook representative NOT to pay the city tax in Switzerland and that I need to pay only in Paris. However, the Swiss hotel(Drei Konige) insisted that I pay the tax to them. I escalated to Thomas Cook team and they manipulated the entire scenario saying it is a new rule. If this is a new rule, then it must have been communicated to me well in advance by Thomas Cook.
I contacted the Switzerland hotel directly and got the following confirmation directly from the hotel that the reservation was booked over Travco and Thomas Cook should have the information about all new government rules. It's not a good thing for a branded company like Thomas Cook to treat the customer in this manner. The representative was very careless and forgot to update me on the rules.
Based on this grounds, I am trying to file a consumer court complaint on this issue. I am also going to publish this issue on all sites and bring it to the notice of media to get justice. At least I do not want other customers to suffer the way I am suffering.
