I was cheated by thomas cook.I wanted to travel to andaman.With calls from various tour operators, on paper thomas cook package looked better, and over and above their call center were very prompt and frequent to call me .
Hence I decided to book, however I had to get air fare reembursement from my employer, and package was chennai-portblair-chennai with air fare, I asked executive whether I will get documents regarding aie travel, he said yes.
At night I was booking, I called number given by him to reconfirm, but they did not reply, I relied on his earlier promise, I booked, and I received mail, that after other call from call center in 48 hous and finishing rest of payment formality booking will be confirmed.After ten minutes of paying rs.26547/- for booking registration, I received call from manager -i told him that I have paid and I wanted documents regarding air travel-he refused, that they will not give it to me this is group tour.
I asked him to cancel registration, he refused and said we will not refund toy amount.however give me time I will call you back.For three days he did not reply-after that again I called him he said me that we will not provide you separate travel documents.and you will not receive refund also.After that I send emails and notices to their higher up managers and management, they refused payment for cancellation which was done before they confirmed my booking, also as promised by executive before I paid for booking registration, refused to send me papers as promised.
so dont rely on these people.
Also dont rely on early bird promises.As in my case initial booking amount was rs.15000/-per person, later on after 15 days it was reduced to rs.5000/- so due to earlier booking I paid more, and lost more money for cancellation, so they punish more to early birds. Also thomas cook india has no relation with parent company, they are using their name only to cheat people of India-as they usually not complaint, as justice is always late and time consuming.
