It was a family getaway for the weekend of of 14th to 16th May and we chose Windflower Mysore for the trip. We had heard good reviews of this property both from friends who had been here before as well as online reviews of the place. The booking was handled pretty efficiently and confirmations came well in time.
The property is about a km from the Mysore Zoo on the Chamundi Hills route, just follow the boards leading to Planet-X and you would get to Windflower about 500 mtrs before Planet-X. The check-in was smooth and we had booked for four deluxe rooms and these rooms had a private sit out area facing a water tank in our case. The rooms were really spacious and the water tank added to the serene atmosphere. The added attraction of the deluxe room I stayed in was the open air shower, it was a great experience to take a shower out in the open at night.
The breakfast was a mix of South Indian and continental cuisine and the spread was fairly ok. We had ordered food through room service for lunch and dinner and both the food as well as the room service were good. Again the price for the food items appeared slightly on the higher side.
The property, though not a very large one, provides enough space for people to move around. One could hire a bicycle and just cycle around for sometime. The swimming pool looked inviting, the only complaint being that it was not cleaned early enough in the morning and by the time it was, the sun was already beating down upon us so we had to call off the swimming plans.
The planet-x which is close by. provides an ideal source of evening entertainment for families and couples. Go Karting, Bowling, Gaming, Snooker and a Hookah Bar / Night Club are highlights of this place.
There is an in-house SPA which has a good set of offerings. The bookings for the same can be done once one lands up in the property and again the staff are very friendly and efficient. The SPA offerings were right priced and pretty affordable.
The only thing that I found lacking in this property was a happening pub / night club. The bar / pub was dull and on a saturday evening there was hardly any music or activity there. As mentioned earlier, the nearby planet -x is the savior.
Overall a nice place to spend a couple of days chilling and spending quality time with family. I would recommend this place for family outings and as an ideal weekend getaway destination for couples.
