Many people consider Pink Floyd to be highly overrated and especially this album. I disagree. Of course, they are overrated but not ''highly'' and this album is superb. Other people will say that ''Dark Side Of The Moon'' is a much better one but I guess to start off, I'll recommend this album. But not to school teachers. ;)

Without any doubt, I consider this as Pink Floyd's best. Maybe even one of the best albums (although, it isn't my favourite. But personal choices differ). Perhaps the best thing about this album is the way the songs seem to fit with each other. More than any other album I've heard. The tracks have not been split with pauses between two songs. And that in itself is a unique thing.

The lyrics are quite dark and deep. One notable feature of this album is that it has a particular mood to it and this mood is maintained throughout the album. It isn't lost completely ever.

My very favourite song of the album is Comfortably Numb. It is a truly superb song and had been my one time favourite song ever. Water's voice and the superb guitar playing lays the foundation to probably one of the best masterpieces not only of Pink Floyd but by any band. ''Another Brick in The Wall part 2'' is my second favourite. This is the song I would recommend no school band to play during Teacher's Day. Read the lyrics for more information. ;) ''Hey You'', ''Don't Leave Me Now'' and ''Run Like Hell'' are the other songs that I liked.

The album is based on a fictional character 'Pinky' who, in my opinion, serves as a personalization of the entire band taken as a single person. The album follows Pinky from his childhood, his battle with drugs and loneliness, mental depression to combat which he creates a huge load in his mind - ''The Wall'' but he realized that the Wall itself is sort of destroying him.

The theme, as you can see, is one which almost ever teenager can relate to. Every person goes through some sort of battle during his teens and it may not neccessarily be the same as that faced by ''Pinky'' but the mindset is quite similar.

Unlike my other music reviews, I wont be writing about every single song individually. Instead, I'll rate each track individually...
