This is a story that takes place in an institution for the deaf, where residents are engaged in committing all kinds of crimes for a living. It looks like a normal story, but it is not. Well, actually if it's a normal story then let me explain: 'The tribe' represents the epitome of form over substance, of how on which above all. It is a film that demands much to the viewer, on the assumption that all "dialogues" are in sign language and there is no kind of translation or subtitles.
However, if you makes the effort to understand everything that happens you get in return an immersion whose value is simply incalculable. And I say effort, but the film really not bored at any time, thanks to the amazing number of sequences .Does this mean that I recommend blindly? Absolutely not, it is a crude and difficult film to watch. It might not appeal to everyone, but really worth it to get closer to the feeling of incomprehension of adolescence.
