What exactly is PAGE 3? Who are these people featured on PAGE 3? What is their claim to fame?
In Mumbai, I guess, the Page 3 people are the big industrialists and the Bollywood populace. Fair enough.
In Delhi, maybe the politicians and the bureaucrats qualify.
Chennai has the South Indian filmi crowd.
Bangalore?
I would love to know who these people are that the Bangalore Times features with great regularity.
So TOI, pray tell us who are these(celebrities?) ………. who stand around with wine glasses every Saturday? You never go beyond first names.
If one counts the number of people featured, the number wouldn’t go to double digits. Always the same crowds milling around.
Please tell us more about them, their interests, achievements, values, awareness and why these events are featured on precious newsprint.
Charity events are never covered, maybe because none of these men and women would be forthcoming with their moolah.
The men are shabbily dressed and the women wear less.
They are called ‘fashionistas’, (never shown sporting fashionable clothes) the ‘art frat’(never shown buying art), and the ‘movers and shakers’(what do they move and shake?).
Serious events(not worthy of Page 3, I guess) are never blessed with their presence.
They are ever ready to hold forth at length on traffic problems, stray dogs, stray cattle, garbage and other issues at parties, no sensible solutions are ever offered.
One never sees them if the media is not around.
Happy partying to them anyway.
No malice intended or unintended.
