Writing a review on Times is tough. Not many like it but every one reads it. So whats the secret.
To think about some positive points why I buy TOI - one is habit and familiarity. Everyone buys it, we also buy it.
Secondly no one covers sports like them. Very good columns in sports section. Midday also covers sports but then TOI comes put first.
Thirdly compared to other papers times got a good neat feel to it. the quality of newsprint etc.
And all those people who like entertainment and hollywood will like Bombay times. Time pass. But Express Newsline is better if you are really bothered about the city.
And the most important of all they have more ads, I dont want to miss ads especially appointment ads ;-)
There are many Times of India haters. so now lets see the points why I dont like times even though I read it.
First and foremost they are a very passive newspaper. No news breaks no serious debates. They always plays it safe.
Secondly they lobby against FDI in print media. Whats so sacred of print media that they are kept away from FDI?
Thirdly noone likes market leaders - see microsoft
and and and ...hmmmmm
see I told you even though every one hates its not very clear why... and I am sure 75 per cent of those who hate are buying it.
Anyway I get o read the other papers at office so I also buy times at home ;-)
