Well I am a journalist too and I wonder whether it's fair commenting on a newspaper I have never worked with. But there is something terribly wrong with the paper's ideology. It's a trendsetter for everything wrong. Call me old fashioned if you will, but wasn't Times that started this page 3 smut? As far as I remember, the till the early 1990s, newspapers were looked upon as a valuable read. Children were asked to read newspapers to improve their overall GK, improve their vocabulary, etc.
Well, today, the first thing we need to do in the morning is to warn our kids not to touch the daily paper. It's so full of the page 3 nonsense. Desperate people in equally deprived moments, with clothes that show more than it reveals. Times started this nonsensical trend and other followed suit. Are not newspapers meant to be part of dignified reading, especially when one has to start the day with a newspaper?? The damage is done and all the muck has hit the fan. Let's just dive for cover. Remember a brand new generation of kids is growing up reading a whole lot of page 3 nonsense. How the Times have changed!!!
