At first glance, Tamarind Hotel Goa may surprise you as you find the cars parked outside. Yes, there is no onsite parking available at this hotel. But the initial disappointment soon gives way to joy as you enter the premises. The white and turquoise combination throughout the hotel gives you an instant calming feeling.
The inside of the Tamarind Hotel Goa is dominated by a kidney-shaped swimming pool, which sits bang in the middle of all the rooms. The rooms are located on the ground and the first floor. The pool is open from 8 am to 8 pm and is a nice place to chill out. There is also a pool bar from where you can purchase beer or other drinks while lazing in the pool.
The room we got is not the largest that I've come across. In fact, most would consider the room to be small. There were three of us - wife, daughter and yours truly and we spent a few minutes wondering how we would fit inside the room. Anyway, our plan was to spend most of the time outdoors and we decided we will manage. The one big advantage of the small-sized room is that the AC really cools it fast. The room was well-appointed though and the white interiors indeed induce calm.
What delighted us was the bathroom - it is the largest I've ever seen in a hotel. You can easily sleep 4-5 adults inside the bathroom - it is that big. The bathroom is minimalistic in design but elegantly done.
The package that we got didn't include breakfast. This was somewhat of a surprise because these hotels almost all the hotels have breakfast included in the package. I'm not sure if the hotel has accommodation packages including breakfast.
The highlight of our stay was the food here. Cafe Cotinga is an onsite restaurant and you can rest assured you will not find too many places offering better food. The presentation of the food and the taste are both amazing. The pastries are super delicious, though costly. You also get to try your hands in the pool table located inside the open restaurant. The bar is right next to the restaurant. The restaurant is open 24x7.
The staff members are courteous and eager to help. Since the hotel is not large in size, you can expect prompt service all the time.
Overall, we had three fantastic days of stay in Tamarind. I recommend it highly for anyone planning a quaint stay in Goa near the most popular beaches of the state.
