After watching initial 20-30 mins of the movie, you conclude that this piece of cinema is not at all for faint hearted or softhearted.it is a story of a frontiersman, Hugh Glass, on a fur trading expedition in the 1820s who fights for his life after being mauled by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team.it is the story of sheer survival and vengeance against all odds.whether it is the opening scene of native attack or the encounter of Glass with the bear, one should have heart and guts to survive the viewing.I have not seen any movie depicting the wilderness in such a real way.you feel you are there while seeing the movie.words such as gruesome, brutal, barbaric are far from expressing what you feel when you see the movie.hats off to the director and the whole team who have executed this difficult task of picturizing the struggle of the lot.you can literally see the blood and sweat of the filming team especially the masterful director Alejandro González Iñárritu and class actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy.certain films are not remembered for his story or drama or dialogues but for the art and skills of movie making, including cinematography and sound design, and this movie is the classical examples of that.one may not be agreed with the length of the film keeping in mind the'bloody' tough subject and may feel difficulty to seat through.lot has been written for our Leo but truly he has acted out of his skin in the movie.he has lived the character of Glass.he has given everything and deserves the Oscar just for withstanding this cruel portrayal which is physically and mentally tiring for any actor on this earth.I recommend to those who don't always expect entertainment from a movie and can absorb and praise the difficult movies made in far more difficult circumstances.I promise that one not only can'enjoy the agony' of this stunningly awful movie but learns the biggest message of the film that one can always pull through if he or she has will to do it from within.i give 4 star out of the 5.
