I had just come back from my long vacation from home that time. My baby was just completing his 5th month. It was the day of our anniversary. I was not sure of going or dining out as the baby is still small and I had never gone out for a dinner or lunch at any public place along with the baby. My homesick attitude was also bothering me a lot then. Finally, without giving a damn to all these, I decided to go out….to the Raintree roof-top restaurant in Chennai named as'Above Sea Level'. It is a 14th level rooftop resto-bar that features gorgeous views of the Chennai skyline.
We were made to sit in the lounge for maximum 10 mins as the place was yet to be vacated. We took our place after that, 'a place for two'. The baby looked quite happy till then. By the time the starters were served, the baby was enjoying the night sky, those distant lights which resembled stars, the candle lights here and there. We were relaxed as well sitting in that open-air environment. There was soothing music in the background too.
Veg or Non-veg'Kebabs' and all kinds of grilled entries are the best things to be tried at this place. Off course not forgetting the beverages. By the time I was taking the last bites of the main course, out little man started crying. My husband had just finished eating till then and thus could manage to take the baby and walk. Seeing us one of the staff girl came and took the baby and asked us not to grab but have the food at our own pace. The baby seemed quite comfortable with the girl.
Just after we finished our dinner, a yummy medium sized chocolate cake was taken to take to us written "happy anniversary" on it. It made us glad. We had a large bite and the rest was packed for us.
The *'feel good factor' *was definitely with us while leaving. And most importantly the cost part was minimal compared to any other restaurant in a five star.
Thus I had the full company of good food, decent ambience, good cooperating staff…at a decent cost…on a good occasion. I had been to this place earlier as well and my experience had always been good.
