"The Professional" - A must read . Review on The Professional - Subroto Bagchi

Recently, I finished reading " The Professional" and could not refrain myself from writing this review as I can closely corelate the book with my everyday work life. I strongly reccomend this book to every young professional as this book highlights the ten major qualities a professional must possess in order to excell in corporate life as well as personal life. The narration is excellent with lot of real life experiences, thorougly reseached.

Of all the qualities mentioned in the book, Intergrity came right on the top, which I believe is the foremost. " What we do is important but how we do is equally important, hence the number one requirement to be a professional is to understand integrity and practise it in our day to day life. The most interesting part of the book being the Multiple intelligence, Intent listening, Three levels of Knowledge, Critical Questioning which is quite interesting, the way the author has unveiled these.

The book is divided into seven parts, first part totally dedicated to Intergrity with and lot of real examples which helps the concept to Integrity very easy to understand. Followed by Intergrity, Self-Awarness is the second part of the book which address the basic qualities of a professioanal where competence ends and professinalism takes over, thereafter the professional qualites, managing volume, managing complexity, the new world imperatives and the professional's professinal. In new world imperatives the auther focusses on a few qualites about the 21st century professional should posess in order to adapt themselves to the future challenges.

The book is very practical, understandable with a lot of interesting facts. Earlier I was very sceptical about reading books from management gurus and other self help books which give a lot of fundas and guru gyan which are not applicable in actual practice but after reading this book I seriously look forward to read other books from Mr Subroto Bagchi. Needless to say this book is a lucid and clear account of Mr Bagchi who succeeded in making this book a must read for every professional.

A great read.rather I would say A must read.Enjoy reading.
