THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST
Qs: What Movie?
Ans.: The Passion of Christ. Saw it last week.
Qs: How was it?
Ans.: If you like to see an innocent man getting whipped through out the movie and climaxing with nail driving finish on the CROSS, then it is a great movie.
Qs: Huh? What you talking about?
Ans.: Mel Gibson has this theory that Jesus died a torturous death to repent for the sins of humanity, so that after his death, the Human race would follow the NEW TESTAMENT to make for a better world. But unfortunately it did not work that way. Jesus died in vain.
Qs: Okay. What else?
Ans: There were some great one liners from Jesus, like ?Father forgive them for they do not know what they do.?Regretfully, we human beings have still not learned to do what we need to do. Witness the way the Christian world tortured the Iraqi prisoners, or the way the Jews continue to kill Palestinians and vice versa. The Hindus slaughter the Muslims and the Jehadis slaughter all. The human race is one hugh slaughtering machine.
Qs: But what about the movie?
Ans: It was gory from the word go. How a man as frail as Jesus could take so much battering at the hands of the Romans is a mystery, speaks well for his inner strength. I think in the Christian World this movie will certainly find a chord, but for the rest of us, the Movie was a no go.
Qs: So was there a message in a bottle for us?
Ans: Well yes. I think Jesus and Mahatma Gandhi were two men with similar philosophies. Add Nelson Mandela as the BORN AGAIN CHRIST. But look at South Africa today. Street violence is terrible in that country. It is the most unsafe country for its citizens and foreign travellers.
So the message is this:
No matter what Messiah comes on planet earth, violence, hatred is genetically built into the human race. There is no way we can stop the blood bath.
