I have a kids going to this school. There is a long story which I will post and update in the comments but currently I want to share a recent incident about the same.
I have a kid studying in 9th ICSE. The major problem with this board is that school has very few students. 8 to 9 maximum in a higher education. Scarcity of qualified teacher and non availability of tuition classed due to non standard books and syllabus is killing this board. School is trying hard(not hard enough) To grow this division.
ICSE was sold to me for some plus points by them principal lady.(The lady ran away due to less or delayed salary issue).
Plus points explained to me were, full syllabus in ICSE exams, more reading habits by more usable of library. None of that happens. School even doesn't have library. They have bunch of books from kabadi market which they call library. No sincere efforts on progress of students. All they do is lip job. They promised more usage of laboratory but for them, more means one in a semester:)
Most of the schools are like that around the area and due to high amount of admission fees and uncertainty with new school, we decided to keep my kids here and bought external tuition services to be on safer side. After examination, score was not good and I wanted answer sheets for a day or xerox or permission to take photo so that I can discuss issues with private coach to make improvement plans. School simply denies.with all bragging about they are there for the progress of the student. I just dont understand the reason for this simple request but mostly something they fear. They want to get rid off local village customers(Students) as they agitate much for smaller reasons. Educated parents want some extra support which they are unable to provide. OVerall they want educated high salary class customers so that they pay as they want but behave like local villagers and abide by whatever ridiculous rules they form .
So the problem with a parent is:
1) Buggers charge a bomb for admission.(65K)
2) Every year fees hike of minimum 15%
3) They brag everything about school. Student's personal achievements are also photographed and pasted to show off new parents.
Deny any transparency
Dont pay teachers on time and they leave very frequently
Does not co operate at all for students improvement
External activities are only for the sake of it.
At the end, we dont have many options. Need to Live with it. If you can find cheaper option, go with it. All are same. Anand niketan and Zydus are better options around with same or lesser cost.
