'The Mangler Reborn' according to me, is one cheap horror movie. The makers seem to have concentrated a lot more on the blood splash that they have let the story slip clumsily. What they expect to be a final 'twist' or the 'concept' of the movie is really very unacceptable and dumb.
The movie begins with a plump old man , reassembling an antique marauding machine. He then poses as a plumber, intercepting calls to the plumbing company, wandering into loney women's homes, knocking them unconcious with a hammer and taking them home in a gunny bag.
He has his house barred & secured like a dungeon, sealing all windows with bricks and all fixing locks for all rooms. In the later part of the movie we find two burglars (father and son) sneaking unaware into the mangler's house. They too get locked in and eventually fall prey to the mangler along with all the innocent women locked in various rooms. A few scenes have some very slightly good elements of screenplay in the above narration.
The question that one would have at any point in the movie is 'why is this fat old guy feeding live humans into this churning machine?'. However the explanation/answer that the makers offer comes as a shock and is very irritating and makes us feel foolish.
I seriously dont recommend this movie, even to gore lovers, because you will tend to feel stupid at the end of the movie.
And 'Oh yes.. there was blood'.
