Having not read the book till now, I have watched all the three movies in the LOTR trilogy and enjoyed every minute of the fantasy. The 'Fellowship of the Ring' certainly made me go for the other two, not only to find out how the story ends but to immerse myself in the pleasure of pure entertainment.

JRR Tolkien surely has written a great story and I guess Peter Jackson and his team have done a great job in bringing the materpiece to the silver screen. I have seen some of Jackson's interviews on the movie and he has accepted that bringing all pages of the book to the movie would be suicidal and the screenplay had been written without dissappointing JRR fans and at the same time attract viewers who are unaware of the book.

I watched the FOTR with my friends and to my surprise two of them were comparing it with Harry Potter. They were complaining about the slow pace of the movie and less action. I had not watched HP by then, but after watching HP (its a kids movie) later, I was feeling sorry for them. No wonder many Indian movie makers continue spinning money with their thrashes. Not that all Hollywood movies are good ( there are a many 'bekar' movies in hollywood too), but this one's a winner.

As many of the reviewers have already written about the plot and characters, I would suggest anybody to go for all the three movies. Though the movie is made with extravagant sets and special effects, its the actors who turn into real characters who will stay in our hearts. The director had made sure that all departments (screenplay, music, editing, photography etc.) have given 110%. The special effects don't look forced and the sets say about the characters who live in different worlds.

Here is a movie which should be commended for what it is. 'Seeing is believing' so see the movie (preferably in a good theater or a very big screen tv with a good sound system). This trilogy is definitely in my DVD collection.
