The Legend of Tarzan' is not as bad as many people have put it out to be, directed by 'Harry Potter' veteran David Yates, is actually a very respectable re-adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs classic character( s) . While it's really an original story not borrowed from any books, I'll say for one this film is a accurate in a sense to stand on it's own as well as acting on fidelity of it's source material. I also love the way it defies most the usual conventions of previous Tarzan iterations, and really bring out the big essence of the African landscape as well as the well drawn out nature of it's characters. There's no denying the fact the film is gorgeous to look at especially with such a huge spectacle at play. Though while it's plot may be far from original, that doesn't deteriorate the film from being fun and exciting even when it gets dark, suspenseful and energetically adventurous. The pacing wasn't all too much of a problem for me, as the flashbacks used were to re-establish some of the well known details about the character ( How is it any different to the way it was used for Batman or Superman for that matter) .
